If you're passionate about creating positive change hands-on

Founded as a volunteer-led charity, our early work focused on supporting people involved in the criminal justice system through prison-based initiatives, accommodation support, education and community projects. Over the decades, we've continued to work closely with prisons, probation services and local communities, developing services that respond to the needs of those we support. In recent years, HACRO has experienced significant growth, particularly through the development and successful delivery of our TurnAround programme.
Through volunteering, community activities, education, mentoring and opportunities to develop positive social connections, we've helped participants build confidence, develop practical skills and establish more stable, independent lives.Building on this success, we've continued to expand our services through the introduction of Connect to Work, helping people overcome barriers to employment, secure and sustain meaningful work, and achieve greater financial independence and stability. By supporting people into employment, we're also helping to strengthen families, contribute to local communities and create wider social and economic benefits.
Today, HACRO brings together over 50 years of experience, a dedicated specialist team and strong partnerships across Hertfordshire. Our commitment remains the same: supporting rehabilitation, reducing reoffending, preventing further victims of crime and helping build safer, stronger communities.
